TechBobcat sells technology for everyday use. Some of what we sell is made for learning, electronics, research and authorized security testing. This policy explains who may buy those items, what you may use them for, and what is not allowed. It is part of our terms of service.
Tools used by security professionals, students and hobbyists are also useful to people who want to do harm. We sell them because there is a real, lawful market for learning, defending and testing systems. We do not sell them to help anyone break the law.
Security and research products can only be bought by adults, at least 18 years old. At checkout you must confirm that you are an adult and that you will use these items lawfully, on systems and networks you own or are authorized to test. We record that confirmation with your order.
You must not use anything you buy from us to:
You must not resell or give an item to someone you know or suspect will use it in these ways.
Laws about computers, communications and radio apply in Canada and in other countries. In Canada this includes the offences in the Criminal Code about unauthorized use of computers, about making, selling or possessing devices designed for those offences, and about intercepting private communications, as well as radio rules set by the federal government. Other countries have their own rules. Owning a tool is not an offence in itself in many cases, but using it on something that isn't yours often is. It is your responsibility to know and follow the laws that apply to you. We can't give legal advice. If you aren't sure whether something is allowed, ask a lawyer before you use it.
We ship security and research products only to addresses in Canada. We don't ship them to countries that are under Canadian sanctions or export controls.
We may ask you questions about an order, ask for more information, delay it, refuse it, or cancel it and refund you in full. We may limit quantities. We do this to protect the public and to follow the law. We can't always explain why.
We may close your account and refuse future orders. We may also report suspected crimes and share the information we hold, including order and sign-in records, with the police and other authorities where the law allows or requires it.
We do not give instructions for getting into systems you don't have permission to test, and we don't help with that. Product pages describe the item and lawful uses. Support staff can help with orders, shipping, and product faults.
The normal returns and refunds rules apply. We can't accept an item back if we have reason to think it has been misused.
If you think one of our products is being used to cause harm, or you have a legal request, contact techbobcat.help@gmail.com. To report a security problem on our own site, write to techbobcat.help@gmail.com.
